In Palestine, resilience is the heartbeat of every community. Every day, people face complex challenges, yet what truly stands out most isn’t the hardship – it’s the HOPE. At We Effect, our role isn’t just about delivering aid; it’s about empowering individuals and communities to forge their own paths forward. By working together, we aim to build sustainable, inclusive, and resilient futures for Palestine.

Transforming Communities Through Empowerment

Take Hanan Al-Saadi from Al-Jalameh village, for example. A cancer survivor and a mother, Hanan exemplifies resilience. To support her family, she started a farming initiative with one plastic greenhouse, funded through a loan from her local Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) through We Effect. Overcoming health issues and financial constraints, she expanded her operation with a second greenhouse, making farming her family’s primary income. Hanan doesn’t just grow crops; she cultivates hope and independence, embracing eco-friendly practices and hand-pollinating pumpkins to avoid harmful pesticides.

Hanan’s story reflects We Effect’s commitment to economic empowerment, gender equality, and Environmental Climate Change Resilience (ECCR). She has gone beyond her own success, working with other women to establish a women-led cooperative, a first in her village, that aims to bolster local economies and provide fair opportunities for women.

At We Effect, we love stories like these because they show what true empowerment looks like. Our role is to stand behind local champions like these women, providing the tools and support they need to make their vision a reality. By partnering with communities, we’re working to create solutions that last.

Urgent needs, lasting impact

In areas like Gaza and the underserved areas in the West Bank, essentials such as clean water, hygiene supplies, and nutritious food are crucial. Together with our partners like Radio Aid, we provide hygiene kits, water resources, and sustainable farming solutions that offer immediate relief. Recent distribution efforts reached over 700 displaced families with essential hygiene items, tackling public health issues like polio by improving sanitary conditions. These initiatives provide immediate support, but our focus remains on equipping communities to meet these needs independently, ensuring their resilience in the long term.

Why gender equality matters

At We Effect, we know that when women thrive, entire communities prosper. In Palestine, however, women often face societal barriers that limit their opportunities. Our programs focus on empowering women like Hanan to build their own businesses, lead cooperatives, and shape their communities’ futures. By fostering women-led initiatives, we’re not only challenging norms but creating pathways to economic independence and equality, lifting families and communities in the process.

Join us in supporting Palestine’s future

Stories like Hanan’s underscore the impact of community-driven change. We Effect’s work in Palestine is proof that even in the face of adversity, hope and transformation are possible. We invite you to stand with us, to share these stories, and to support a future where every individual has the resources and opportunities to thrive. Together, we are building a more equal, resilient world—one community at a time.
