New blog offers insight into everyday life in Palestine

We Effect’s colleague Mariam Ikermawi, Programme Officer for Gender Equality and Advocacy in Ramallah on the West Bank, has launched a blog where she shares reflections from her work and daily life in Palestine. Through personal stories, she portrays life under occupation and the efforts carried out by We Effect, together with local partner organisations, to promote human rights, gender equality, and sustainable development.
The blog provides a unique perspective on the challenges faced by people in Palestine – from restrictions on movement and insecurity to grief and resilience in times of crisis. In her first posts, Mariam shares her experiences of passing through checkpoints between Jerusalem and Ramallah, and what it feels like to celebrate Eid in a time marked by violence and loss in Gaza.
