In Eastern Africa We Effect partners with 44 organizations operating within Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. We support cooperatives and other member-based organisations to contribute to the right to food and adequate housing, increased resilience and sustainable livelihoods for their members and communities. These partnerships allows us to extend our reach and collaborate on projects that create lasting positive change in Eastern Africa.
Empowering smallholder farmers through innovative financing
In sub-Saharan Africa, around 80 per cent of agricultural production is by smallholder farmers, who are mostly rural women. Most economies are predominantly agriculture-based. However, the limited investment in value addition is making farming a predominantly low-income activity, not able to provide the rural population with adequate income.
